In June 2025, I visited Kerkini Lake for birdwatching with my mother, enjoying a private boat trip despite only exploring a portion of the area. We observed various birds, including pelicans and egrets. I recommend relying on local experts for a richer experience and consider staying nearby for convenience.

After a three-week trip to Indonesia, I sought birdwatching opportunities in Malaysia, specifically near Kuala Lumpur. I chose Bukit Tinggi for its rich bird species, staying at the Chateau Wellness & Spa Hotel. Despite discovering many birds near the hotel and Japanese and Botanical Gardens, navigating the area without a car posed challenges. I enjoyed the wildlife, including squirrels and monkeys, but the resort's layout limited access to the best birding spots. Overall, it was a peaceful experience amidst nature.

Travel to Santorini is convenient through air or sea, with the possibility of self-driven transportation available. Santorini promises an idyllic escape filled with memorable experiences.
Kenya: Self-guided safari in Tsavo East
I tried a one-day safari in Tsavo East, Kenya, and in the post I am highlighting sightings of elephants, antelopes, and birds. I rented a car for a self-guided tour, facing some wildlife viewing challenges due to midday heat. A subsequent day at Voi Wildlife Lodge provided relaxation and wildlife viewing by the pool.
